FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla. (October 20, 2012) - The Tars remain unbeaten in their last nine, downing Nova Southeastern on the road Saturday evening, 3-0.
Rollins has been firing on all cylinders as of late and Saturday night was no different. The Tars jumped out to the early lead when sophomore Brenna McKee added her seventh goal of the season.
Rollins earned a free kick just right of the box in sixth minute that Sophomore Courtney Reddig served to the far post where McKee headed it past Sharks keeper Amanda Kopale.
The score would hold at 1-0 heading into the half.
Coming out of the break, Rollins would increase the pressure. In the 60th minute McKee would add her second goal of the night, collecting a ball flicked on from sophomore Emma Jones before dribbling through the Nova SE defense and finishing for her now team leading eighth goal of the season.
Senior Ali Schrader would add another, chipping it over the keeper's head in the 75th minute to put it out of reach for good. Schrader was set up on the play by a well placed through ball by Jones. The goal was the 20th for Schrader in her career, eighth most in Rollins history.
Tars keeper Mary Spring recorded two saves en route to her sixth shutout of the year.
The Tars will be back in action Saturday, Oct. 27th when they host Florida Southern. Fans can follow along with all the action live on the Tars sports network at RollinsSports.com.
