WINTER PAR, Fla. (February 17, 2012) - In the second game of the series against Bentley, the Rollins Tars baseball team locked in a 7-2 victory over the Falcons Friday evening at Alfond Stadium.  Rollins now improves to 5-3 on the season with all five wins coming at home.

Kevin Mager registered team-bests of two hits and three RBIs, along with a run scored and a walk.  Hunter Mayfield had one hit off the Falcons with a pair of RBIs, two runs scored and a stolen base.

Both teams went scoreless through three innings before Bentley took the 1-0 lead in the fourth.  Rollins then answered back with five runs in the bottom half of the inning.

Bentley (0-5) found themselves in a bit of a jam committing two errors in the frame, while giving up three hits and a pair of walks.  Brian Lattanzi got things rolling with a double down the left field line.  After Anthony Figliolia drew a walk, Boston Langley loaded the bases reaching on an error by the Falcons shortstop.  Figliolia and Lattanzi then scored on a single through the right side.  Bases were loaded once again with only one out and Langley crossed the plate as Zach Persky reached on another defensive miscue by the Falcons.  Nick Adams and Mayfield scored the final runs of the inning on a single to center.

Rollins then tacked on another run in the seventh and the final run of the game came in the eighth.  Mager scored the Tars' run in the seventh on a sacrifice fly, while Mayfield scored in the eighth on a Mager RBI single.  The Falcons scored their only other run in the top of the seventh.

In his third start of the season, Taylor Smith (1-0) earned the win in eight innings of work.  He struck out five, walked two and gave up one earned run.

The Falcons starting pitcher, John Yohe (0-2) was saddled with the loss in five innings on the bump.  Yohe recorded two strikeouts and walked four, while allowing five runs scored.

Rollins will be back in action Saturday, February 18 for game three of the series.  First pitch is set for 1 p.m.  Fans can catch all the action live on the Tars Sports Network at
