FT. LAUDERDALE, Fla. (November 5, 2011) - Rollins was strong in the distance events, but Nova Southeastern scored points in bunches as the Tars fell to the Sharks 131.5-64.5 in Sunshine State Conference swimming action Saturday.

Grace Alexander and Samantha Sigaty had big days for the Tars (0-2).

Alexander picked up a runner-up finish in the 1000-yard freestyle in a time of 11:06.29 and was third in the 500-yard freestyle in 5:26.57. Jenny Nilson finished fourth in the 500 (5:28.60) to go along with a third place finish in the 200-yard freestyle in 2:01.45.

Sigaty tied for second place in the 50-yard freestyle with a time of 26.20 and later joined Nilson, Leandra Lima and Christine Bianco to take second in the 400-yard freestyle (3:44.75).

Lima was third in the 200-yard backstroke in 2:17.10, Bianco was runner-up in the 200-yard butterfly (2:17.06) and Katie Gentsch added a third place in the 200-yard breaststroke (2:55.28).

Rollins will be back in the pool on Saturday, Nov. 12 hosting first-year program Florida Tech at 1 p.m.
