SALEM, Va. (May 25, 2011)- Battery mates Christine Roser and Hope Bitzer were honored as First Team All-Americans the NFCA announced. Rollins is the only school that boasts two All-American selections.

The selection is the third for Roser as she was second team as a junior and first team as a sophomore. Roser has been a model of excellence in her career at Rollins, leaving the school record book peppered with her name all over it. In her senior season, Roser posted a .415 batting average and knocked home 48 runs. She was nearly perfect in the field, only committing two errors in more than 400 chances. Roser also saw time in the circle, going 2-0 and posting a 0.64 ERA to help lead the Tars to hold the nation's lowest team ERA in Division II. She adds another honor to her crowded trophy cabinet and will leave Rollins as one of the programs most decorated athletes.

Bitzer made an immediate impact on the pitching staff in 2011, going 18-1 and posting an astonishing low 0.66 ERA, leading the nation. She racked up 161 strikeouts and held opponents to a .136 batting average to help the Tars post a 45-4 record and earned their third-consecutive trip to the NCAA Tournament. Bitzer was also a threat, hitting .347 and collecting 39 RBIs with seven home runs to help propel the offense.
