WINTER PARK, Fla. (April 11, 2012) - After taking two out of three from former sixth-ranked Barry this past week, including a dominant 15-4 performance in the rubber match, the Tars continue their ascend back up the polls, checking in at 14th in the latest NFCA Division II Top 25 poll released by the Association on Wednesday. Despite the convincing series win vs. Barry, the Bucs remain ahead of Rollins in 11th.
For the third consecutive week, Valdosta State (37-2) remains the No. 1 team in the nation, receiving 15 of 16 first-place votes, with No. 2 Indianapolis (37-2) receiving the remaining vote. The rest of the top five was also unchanged in the latest poll with Winona State (32-3), Central Oklahoma (33-3) and Kutztown (36-1) checking in at third, fourth and fifth, respectively.
Rollins will be back in action Friday, April 13th when they welcome Saint Leo to Winter Park for a three game series. Game one is set for Friday evening at 7 pm with a double header to follow on Saturday at 1 pm. Fans can follow along with all the action on the Tars Sports Network at RollinsSports.com.
The NFCA Division II Top 25 Poll is voted on by 16 NCAA Division II head coaches, two representing each of the eight NCAA regions. Current 2012 records are shown, first-place votes are in parentheses.
