WINTER PARK, Fla. (May 15, 2012) -Rollins senior outfielder Monica Meadows was named 2012 Daktronics, Inc., Third team All-American, it was announced Tuesday.
Meadows adds her All-America selection to her laundry list of accolades she has already racked up her senior campaign. She has already been named to first team All-SSC, as well as SSC Player of the Year, first team Daktronics All-South Region, and second team NFCA All-South region in 2012. The Daphne, Ala. native finished the season batting a team best .419 with 10 homeruns, 25 doubles and 48 runs driven in, all of which are also team bests. She also leaves Rollins with the career record for hits (259) and doubles (62).
Meadows becomes the eighth Tar to be named to the Daktronics All-America Softball Team since 2007, most among Division II.
The team is sponsored by Daktronics, Inc., an acknowledged world leader in scoring, timing and programmable display systems for virtually every sport at every level of competition. The team is voted on by the members of the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA).
