PALM BEACH GARDEN, Fla. (October 8, 2012) - The Rollins men's golf team carded a one-round score of 291 to place them fourth after the first day of competition at the Guy Harvey Invitational held at the PGA National Resort and Spa.
Round two was halted due to darkness and will resume Tuesday morning at 8:15 with the remaining 4-5 holes.
Host Nova Southeastern leads the men's group by nine strokes with a one-round score of 279. Separated by five strokes, the remaining teams in the top-five include Eckerd in second with an even-par-288, Barry in third with a 290 and Lynn in fifth with a 293.
The Tars were led by Charlie Fitzgerald as the redshirt senior carded a 3-under-par 69. Tied for 13th was Scott Lamb as he turned in a score of 72, while Tyler Sluman shot a 74 to tie him for 24th. Davis Hall and Thomas Gouveia each shot a 76 to tie them for 34th.
Rollins will conclude play at the Guy Harvey Invitational on Tuesday, Oct. 9 with the remainder of Round 2 followed by the final round of play.
