LAKELAND, Fla. (April 20, 2012) - Rollins was swept in a tight doubles round and couldn't climb out of the hole as the sixth-ranked Tars fell to third-ranked Barry 5-1 in the Florida Blue Sunshine State Conference Championship semifinals Friday.

The loss drops Rollins (16-7) into the third-place match against Saint Leo at 9 a.m. on Saturday, April 21.

When Rollins and Barry (20-5) met earlier in the season, the Tars scored a huge 5-4 win in Winter Park.

The Bucs came out firing in the second match, as Jeff Morris and Ari Davis were turned away in the No. 3 doubles match, 8-2 by Romain Costamagna and Ollie Lemaitre.

The top-flight match featured 10^th-ranked Lucas Jovita and Jason Alabaster against 13^th-ranked Marco Mokrzycki and Leo Vivas with the duo from Barry scoring a 9-7 upset.

The second flight between Malte Christesen and Constantin Sturdza of Rollins and Barry's Daniel Schmidt and Fabian Groetsch was tied eight-all, but again Barry came up big, winning 7-2 in the tiebreaker.

In singles action, second-ranked Jovita got Rollins on the board with a 6-2, 6-2 win over 11^th-ranked Mokrzycki. That would prove to be the Tars' lone score, however as Vivas beat Sturdza 6-4, 6-3 at No. 5 and Costamanga upset 43^rd-ranked Christesen 6-3, 6-3 at No. 3 to slam the door on Rollins.
