MIAMI SHORES, Fla. (February 25, 2017) – Squaring up against the No. 7 team in Division II, the Rollins men’s tennis team was unable to put together the pieces as they fell to the Bucs by a final score of 9-0 on Saturday afternoon at the Buccaneer Tennis Center.

Rollins drops to 2-2 on the season, and 1-1 in Sunshine State Conference action, while Barry advances to 6-0 and 1-0 in SSC play.

The Bucs swept doubles play, beginning with the No. 24 tandem of Carlos Gomez and Vivien Versier taking down the pair of Ahmed Albitar and Daniel Ferl, 8-1.  Nico Dreer and Thomas Bugeaud earned the 8-1 win over Francesco Racanelli and Ziad Melhaoui, followed by a Buccaneer win at No. 1 Doubles by Ahmed Triki and Pierre Montrieul over the No. 7 tandem of Patrick Sell and Sam Kirberg.

Singles action saw the Tars fall to the same fate as all six flights were sunk by the Bucs.  Nico Dreer (No. 35 singles) gave the Bucs their first win of the singles set over Ziad Melhaoui (6-2, 6-1) before Pierre Montrieul gave Barry a 5-0 lead defeating Rolllins’ Francesco Racanelli, 6-1, 6-1.  Barry’s Fabian Pronnet secured the 6-1, 6-2 win over Daniel Ferl, followed by No. 27 Thomas Bugeaud defeating Cody Gubin, 6-3, 6-2.  Vivien Versier earned a 7-6 (9-7), 6-1, win over Sami Kirberg at No. 5 singles, followed by No. 11 Carlos Gomez taking down Patrick Sell at No. 1 Singles (5-7, 7-6 (7-5), 13-11).
