ALTAMONTE SPRINGS, Fla. (April 16, 2011) - The ninth-ranked Rollins women's tennis team downed 11th-ranked Florida Southern 5-1, Saturday in the Sunshine State Conference Championship third place match.
The victory gives 25-year veteran head coach Bev Buckley number 400 for her career.
Rollins captured third place for the second straight season, beating the rival Mocs in both attempts.
In No. 1 doubles, Margaret Junker and Kayli Ragsdale teamed to beat Agnese Rozite and Sabine Goge 8-5 while Lisa Loft and Stefania Tkach took Veronika Kovacikova and Ioalis Dominguez 8-3 at No. 2.
Roshni Luthra and Allie Steele completed the Tars sweep with an 8-5 win over Crystal Copeland and Pamela Paradis in the No. 3 match.
Rollins bottom half of the singles lineup then took care of business.
Marana Salvador downed Copleand 6-2, 6-1 in the No. 5 match and Ashley Rosenberg defeated Paradis 6-1, 6-0 at No. 6.
Rollins will now await its draw for the NCAA Division II Tournament.
