SKILLMAN, N.J. (May 13, 2011) - Rollins junior Kayli Ragsdale was recently honored with the NCAA Division II South Region Arthur Ashe Leadership and Sportsmanship Award, the ITA announced.

The honor recognizes outstanding individuals in all divisions at the regional and national level. The award, which dates back to 1982, goes to NCAA Divisions I, II and III, NAIA and JuCo men's and women's players who have exhibited outstanding sportsmanship and leadership as well as scholastic, extracurricular and tennis achievements.

Former Rollins All-American Tasi Purcell earned the Arthur Ashe National Award in 2006.

Ragsdale, an Austin, Texas native, was All-Sunshine State Conference Honorable Mention earlier in the year after posting an 8-1 record in singles and 14-13 mark in the top doubles spot.

An excellent student-athlete, Ragsdale had earned spots on the Rollins Athletic Director's and Sunshine State Conference Commissioner's Honor Rolls each of her six semesters.
