SAINT LEO, Fla. (February 25, 2012) - Mariana Salvador won a decisive third set in the four singles match to lift ninth-ranked Rollins past Saint Leo 5-4 on Saturday.

With the win, the Tars improve to 2-2 on the season and 2-1 in Sunshine State Conference action. The Lions drop to 5-2 overall and 2-3 in conference.

Rollins fell in the top doubles match, but won at two and three to gain the early advantage. Lisa Loft and Kayli Ragsdale fell to 12th-ranked Laura Kemkes and Emily Singleton 8-1 in the top flight.

Callie Whitlock and Elissa DeCampli teamed to take Maria Benkirane and Caroline Ebner 8-3 at No. 2 while Ashley Rosenberg and Marian Salvador teamed to down Adrianna Daszkiewicz and Jeannette McDonald 8-6 in the No. 3 match.

In singles, DeCampli made quick work of Ebner 6-1, 6-1 in the No. 6 match, but the Tars fell in the next three decisions and were down 4-3 as the day wore down.

Rosenberg won 6-4, 6-4 over Daszkiewicz in the No. 3 match to set up Salvador against McDonald as the decisive point. McDonald won the first set 6-3, but Salvador won the next two, 6-1, 6-3 and sealed the Rollins win. 

The Tars continue their tough road trip on Sunday, Feb. 26 at Nova Southeastern.
