2010 (Senior): Daktronics All-America Third Team...AVCA All-America Second Team...Sunshine State Conference All-SSC First Team...NCAA South Regional All-Tournament Team...Daktronics All-South Region First Team...AVCA Division II All-South Region Third Team...ranked ninth nationally amongst all Division II volleyball players in kills per set (4.28) and 12th in points per set (4.81)...tallied 27 double-figure kill matches, including a career-high 32 (Florida Tech, 10/23) which was the second of a pair of 30+ kill matches...notched 21 double-doubles this season...first volleyball student-athlete to earn All-America status in the history of Rollins...was one of three Tars to appear and start in all 32 matches...recorded a career-high 27 digs against Valdosta State (10/15)...picked up a pair of five block matches...hit above .300 on 12 occasions, including a .440 against Alabama-Huntsville (10/15)...averaged 4.28 kills, 3.51 digs, 0.45 blocks, 0.29 assists, and 0.22 service aces per game...led the squad in kills, kills per set; ranked second in total blocks and digs; and third in service aces...earned Sunshine State Conference Offensive Player of the Week nod in the opening weekend of play.
Prior to Rollins: Mendoza was a three-year starter for Kentucky where she earned All-American laurels her junior season...named to the All-SEC Second Team in 2008 and dubbed SEC Player of the Week on two occasions...closed out her tenure with Kentucky with 1,097 kills in 95 matches played, 91 assists, 60 service aces, 693 digs, and 144 total blocks.
High School: Led Winter Park High School to three state championships...a first-team All-State selection...competed in the Orlando Volleyball Academy for four years under the direction of Jose Quinones, Yvonne Devin, German Del Valle, and Sindee Snow.
Personal: Born Sarah Ann Mendoza, Oct. 17, 1988 in Colorado Springs, Colo....daughter of Barbara Ptasznski...has three brothers - Joe, Michael, and John and one sister - Jessica...sister Jessica plays volleyball for Saint Leo... majoring in art studio.
