BIRMINGHAM, Ala. (November 16, 2011) - Sophomore Megan Hodges earns her first career Daktronics award as she was named to the 2011 Daktronics All-South Region Team, it was announced Wednesday.
Hodges is a first team selection as she earns the Tars' first postseason accolade of the season. In one of the toughest conferences (Sunshine State) in Division II, the Orlando native leads the league with 4.26 kills per set to rank her 15th in the nation; her 4.78 points per set also ranks 19th in the nation.
She has aided the Tars in posting their second straight 20+ win season, along with the program's second straight postseason bid. The Tars have also registered the most conference wins in program history.
The 6-1 outside hitter ranks fifth in single-season total attacks with 1,330 and is second in single-season kills with 515.
Rollins will face the North Alabama Lions in the first round of the NCAA Division II South Region Tournament. The Tars will take on the Lions on Thursday, Nov. 17 at 12 Noon. Fans can follow the Tars in their quest for a championship on the Tars Sports Network at RollinsSports.com.
