LEXINGTON, Ky. (October 2, 2012) -After leading the Tars to a pair of Sunshine State Conference road wins, junior middle blocker Camille Indest has been named the Sports Imports/AVCA National Player of the Week.
Indest is only the second Tar in program history to be named National Player of the Week following Stephanie Nichols' recognition in 2006.
In the Tars' first conference win of the season, Indest registered 14 kills to go with a .478 hitting percentage. She also tallied three digs and three blocks in the straight sets victory over Nova Southeastern.
The junior then followed that performance with 12 kills, a pair of service aces, three digs and four blocks against the Barry Buccaneers, hitting a .440 clip.
For the week, Indest averaged 3.71 kills per set with a .458 hitting percentage, to go along with 1.0 block, 0.9 digs, and 0.3 service aces per set.
Indest was also named Sunshine State Conference Offensive Player of the Week on Monday, Oct. 1.
Rollins will be back in action on Friday, Oct. 5 as they host rival Florida Southern. Match time is set for 7 p.m.
