WINTER PARK, Fla. (July 11, 2011) - Rollins baseball players Hunter Mayfield and Taylor Smith will represent the North squad at the 2011 Florida League All-Star Game, it was announced by the league office. The mid-summer classic will be played July 12th at Historic Sanford Memorial Stadium, with first pitch slated for 7 p.m. A home run derby will start the festivities at 6 p.m.

Bright House Sports Network will broadcast the game live as veteran sportscaster David Bauman joins former Major Leaguers Ray Lankford and Dante Bichette in the broadcast booth.

Mayfield is hitting .258 with 20 RBIs as an everyday outfielder for the Leesburg Lightning. The Tallahassee native has posted seven multi-hit games on the season, including a 3-for-5, four RBI performance in the season opening tilt against DeLand. He was a redshirt for the Tars last season after transferring from Ohio State.

Smith has seven appearances and five starts for the Sanford River Rats and carries a 2-0 record and 3.07 ERA. In 29.1 innings of work, he has racked up 33 strikeouts and allowed just 11 walks. For the Tars in 2011, Smith saw four starts and posted a 4.43 ERA in 20.1 innings on the mound.

Tickets for the event are $5 and can be purchased at the gate. For more information, visit
