WINTER PARK, Fla. (February 17, 2017) – The Tars timely hitting in Sunday’s affair gave Rollins the edge, defeating the Bentley Falcons 7-6. With the victory, Rollins moves to 7-2 on the season, winning their last three games played.

The Falcons answered in the next inning, putting a couple of men on base thanks to a pair of singles. Both runners crossed the plate after Jake Pierce hit a high fly ball to right field that was dropped, giving Bentley a 2-1 lead in the top of the second. Brooker later scored the second run of the inning when left fielder Mike Dolan drove him in with a line shot up the middle, giving the tars the 3-2 lead.

The Bentley offense was able to pull even again in the sixth. Brandon Grover and Ryan Berardino tied together a pair of hits to scrape together a run, in Caleb Jakes’ last inning of work.

Two frames later, the Rollins offense exploded to separate themselves from their opponent. Senior Captain, Christopher Corbett led off the inning with his first triple of the season. Peter Nicoletto answered with his own triple, scoring Corbett. The next batter drove in the centerfielder as he reached on a throwing error by the Falcon shortstop. Nick Santucci came in clutch with the bases loaded, scorching a double to right field which drove in two runs to extend the lead to 7-3.
