WINTER PARK, Fla. (November 3, 2011) - With the NBA lockout halting the start of the season and Rollins without a preseason game this year, the Tars invited former and current Orlando Magic players to Warden Arena for an informal pick-up game Thursday.
Word of the event spread like wildfire through social media and a crowd totaling more than 300 students watched the Tars beat the pros, 101-92.
Current players Ryan Anderson and J.J. Reddick joined former Orlando players Marcin Gortat, Courtney Lee and Jason Williams, all coached by Dwight Howard, to battle the Tars. Many of the players have been using the Alfond Sports Center to train during the lockout.
