FT. LAUDERDALE, Fla. (February 25, 2012) - Myk Brown poured in a game-high 27 points, but Rollins couldn't answer a big Nova Southeastern run as the Tars fell to the Sharks 90-79 in the regular season finale Saturday.

Brown's big day was bolstered by 18 points and seven rebounds from Chris Malcolm. Brett Chance tallied nine points, four rebounds and five assists.

The loss drops Rollins to 16-10 on the season and 9-7 in SSC play, while the Sharks end the regular season 13-13 overall and 7-9 in the league.

Rollins got off to a quick start and led 12-8 after five minutes of play. The teams then traded baskets until a 5-0 Tars run later in the frame put the visitors up 25-20 at the 7:13 mark.

After another small Sharks run put them ahead 32-31 with 1:48 in the half, Jeff Dirkin hit a big 3-pointer to swing the momentum in the Tars favor. The high was short lived as Tim Traversa drained a long 3-pointer at the buzzer and gave NSU a 35-34 lead at intermission.

Rollins led by three, 52-49, near the midway point of the second before the Nova mounted what would become its game-clinching stretch. The Sharks went on a 12-0 run over the next four minutes and pushed the lead to 73-57 with 5:42 to play.

The Tars closed to within five at the 3:41 mark, but a Sharks conventional 3-point play and free throw shooting down the stretch seals the win for Nova.

Rollins shot 61 percent in the first half, but ended the game 45 percent (24-53) from the field. Nova Southeastern hit 63 percent in the second frame and finished the day 52 percent (28-54). Each team earned 30 rebounds.

Teddy Tassy led the Sharks with 25 points while Sean Mullan netted 19 and Shaun Pratl 16.

The Tars will host a first round Sunshine State Conference Tournament game on Wednesday, Feb. 29.
