FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla. (January 29, 2011) - With 2.0 seconds left on the clock, junior Paris Moore secured the Tars third consecutive Sunshine State Conference win as No. 19 Rollins (18-3, 6-3) defeated the Nova Southeastern Sharks 80-79 at the Don Taft University Center.

Rollins finished with three Tars scoring in double-digit figures with Julie Gorman notching a career-high and first double-double of the season with 15 points and 10 rebounds.  Paris Moore and Kourtnie Berry each added 15 points apiece with Moore collecting her second double-double of the season with 10 rebounds.

The final 10 minutes of play in the second half was a back-and-forth race between both teams each taking a turn at the lead.  After a loose ball foul was called on Kristina Mingos with 10:30 on the clock, NSU's Kristina Cabrera was drawn to the line to give the Sharks a one-point lead, 62-61.

Following multiple lead changes, Rollins managed to gain hold of a lead and led by as many as five with 4:17 on the clock, 76-71.  The Tars managed to keep possession of the ball for a little over two minutes, which worked in the their favor, after Rollins picked up a foul with 19.6 seconds left in the game with NSU trailing by two, 79-77.

Nova (10-8, 3-6) then tied the score at 79-all on an Abbie Tepe drive and was fouled, but missed her free throw and gave Rollins possession on a jump ball.  Moore was then called to the line on the next possession with 2.0 seconds on the clock as Tepe fouled out and secured the Rollins win.

Rollins did struggle early in the game as the injury-plagued Tars made their way from a 10-point deficit to come from behind and tie the score, 35-35, heading into intermission on a Julie Gorman buzzer beater.

The Tars trailed by 10 on two occasions with their last coming at the 5:39 mark and came within two, 33-31, after a 12-4 run with less than three minutes in regulation.  Rollins went 11-of-14 from the charity stripe in the first half with six of the Tars free throws coming from the 12-4 run.

Rollins returns to Warden Arena this coming week as the Tars host the Tampa Spartans on Wednesday, Feb. 2.  Tip-off is slated for 7:30 p.m.  For live action of the Tars, check out the Tars Sports Network at RollinsSports.com.
