MEUZAC, FRANCE (September 6, 2011) - Rollins junior Delfina Cuglievan won the Under 21 World Championship in slalom over the weekend, to highlight three Tars in competition.
Cuglievan, who was 10th overall at last year's National Collegiate Water Ski Championships, cleared three buoys at 38 feet off to win the title. She represented her native Peru at the event.
Senior Gregory Sarantis, skiing for Greece, finished seventh in the men's slalom, scoring 4.5 buoys at 38 feet off. Newcomer Alberto Mejia also participated, finishing 14th in jumps with a distance of 54 meters.
Earlier in the summer, Tars veteran head coach Mark Bedsole became a three-time national champion in tricks. He will look to return next summer and win a fourth title.
