WINTER PARK, Fla. (March 13, 2017) –  Rollins women’s lacrosse midfielder Hannah Ashton has been named Sunshine State Conference Offensive Player of the Week for the period ending March 12, league officials announced Monday.  This marks the second SSC Weekly award of the season for Ashton.

Ashton led the Tars on the week with six goals, one assist, and eight draw controls.  The freshman’s performance helped Rollins win both games, including a 13-9 upset over No. 7 Limestone on Thursday night.  Ashton, a middie, scored a game high four goals against then seventh-ranked Saints, and added a team high five draw controls as the Tars took down their south region foe.  The Berwyn, Pa. native then closed out the week with two goals, one assist, and three draw controls against Alabama-Huntsville.  Rollins has now won five straight with Ashton's help, and enters into the second portion of their schedule with a record of 6-2.

The Tars return to action on Tuesday, March 14, when they host Seton Hill at Barker Family Stadium and Cahall-Sandspur Field.  Game time against the Griffins is set for 7 p.m.  Fans who are unable to attend the game will be able to follow the Tars with free HD video available on the Geico Tars Sports Network with additional links to live coverage available on RollinsSports.com.
