WINTER PARK, Fla. (March 20, 2017) –  Rollins women’s lacrosse goalie Malorie Olin has been named Sunshine State Conference Defensive Player of the Week for the period ending March 19, league officials announced Monday.  This marks the first SSC weekly award of the season for Olin.

Olin played 120 minutes between the pipes over the course of two contests this past week, helping the Tars to an 8-2 overall record, and continuing to help the seventh-ranked Rollins women's lacrosse team ride a streak that has seen them win seven straight.  The junior opened up the week with seven saves and two ground balls against Seton Hill, where she faced 16 shots from the Griffins while allowing only seven goals.  The Skaneateles, N.Y. native closed out the week with 12 saves against Belmont Abbey. Olin faced 18 shots from the Crusaders, allowing only three goals all contest.  On the week, Olin added three ground balls.

The Tars return to action on Friday, March 24, when they take on Shepherd University at Tierney Field in Baltimore, Md.  Game time against the Rams is set for 6:00 p.m.  Links to live coverage will be provided on
