WINTER PARK, Fla. (April 24, 2017) – After being upended in their season finale against then ninth-ranked Florida Tech last week, the Rollins women’s lacrosse team drops three positions to No. 9 on the latest IWLCA DII Poll, organization officials announced Monday.

Rollins spent two weeks at No. 9 earlier this season, getting the nod on the week one and week two polls before climbing back up to seventh on the week three standings.  The Tars swap places with Florida Tech, who moves up to sixth this week, marking their highest ranking of the season.  Florida Southern remains at No. 4, making the Sunshine State Conference currently one of the most dominant in the Top-10 rankings, matched by the Northeast 10 with three schools (Le Moyne, Adelphi, and New Haven).

For the first time since the Preseason Poll, there is a new number one atop the DII standings as Le Moyne earned 11 first place votes to take the top spot.  The Dolphins upset then No. 1 Adelphi with a final score of 5-4 last week, remaining undefeated on the season and bumping Adelphi to the No. 3 slot this week.  Le Moyne and Lindenwood remain the only two undefeated teams in Division II, with Lindenwood holding onto their No. 2 position while earning the remaining nine first place votes.

Florida Southern and LIU Post round out the Top-5 in that order, while Florida Tech makes the climb three spots to sixth.  Limestone remains at seventh, holding onto a record of 15-3, while Queens (N.C.) also holds stead at eighth, sitting with an overall mark of 14-3.  Rollins and New Haven round out the Top 10, with New Haven holding onto their same ranking from last week’s poll.

The upcoming week sees plenty of Top-20 action, with Le Moyne putting its top raking on the line as they go up against No. 11 Pace.  No. 12 West Chester faces 15th-ranked East Stroudsburg on Wednesday, while sixth-ranked FIT and the No. 9 Tars square off for their second straight game as they play in the SSC Tournament Semifinals on Friday.  Second-ranked Lindenwood will also be put to the test when they take on 14th-ranked Regis on Friday.  Saturday will see No. 19 Indiana (Pa.) travel to 15th-ranked East Stroudsburg, while fifth-ranked LIU Post will host No. 12 NYIT.
