Rollins Student-Athletes Post Strong Spring in the Classroom
WINTER PARK, Fla. (May 19, 2010) – Rollins College’s 322 student-athletes posted a combined grade point average of 3.12 in the Spring 2010 semester, the program’s 18th straight term above 3.0.
Coming off a runner-up finish at the NCAA Division II National Championship, Rollins’ women’s golf team posted a department-best a 3.68 GPA and earned the Sports Information Director’s GPA Trophy. Previous holder of the trophy, women’s tennis, was second with a 3.59 GPA. Tennis head coach Beverly Buckley presented the trophy to women’s golf head coach Julie Garner in a formal ceremony on Tuesday.
A record 14 student-athletes earned perfect 4.0 GPA’s in the semester while 206 Tars were honored on the Athletic Director’s Honor Roll for earning 3.0 GPA’s or better.
