WINTER PARK, Fla. (July 25, 2016) – Rollins College Director of Athletics Pennie Parker has announced changes and additions to support staff in advance of the upcoming sports season.

Nate Weyant has been named as Assistant Athletic Director for Strategic Communications and will oversee all communications and marketing efforts for the department. He spent the last year as Marketing Manager at the Central Florida Sports Commission, promoting the company and leading marketing efforts for marquee events. Prior to his stint at the CFSC, Weyant served as Assistant Athletic Director for Communications at Rollins for 11 years.

Now in her sixth total year at Rollins, Megan Hinners was promoted to Associate Director of Communications and Marketing. She leads the department’s efforts with marketing and sponsorships while also overseeing the implementation of the Tars brand. Hinners serves as the department liaison to Rollins Institutional Advancement and works closely with the Anchor Club.

Clay Starrett has been elevated to Director of Operations after serving as interim Director of Communications the previous year. He has been a part of Rollins Athletics since graduating from the College with a degree in Mathematics in 2008. Starrett’s career began as Operations Coordinator before moving to Assistant Director of Communications in 2013. He will now oversee all athletics facilities and game operations.

Rollins Athletics has won 23 National Championships, most recently taking the 2016 NCAA Division II Women’s Golf title. The Tars strong tradition also includes 90 Sunshine State Conference championships and 10 SSC Mayor’s Cup All-Sport Trophy championships. Rollins also led the conference in NCAA Academic Success Rate (ASR) and was 18th in the nation, 21 points above the national average.

The Tars begin the 2016-17 sports season on Thursday, September 1 with women’s soccer hosting Limestone. Men’s soccer opens up at Saint Leo against Wingate the next day while the volleyball team travels o Anchorage, Alaska for the Spring Hill Suites Invitational.
