The Bears were led in goals by Leroy Halftown with a hat trick on the afternoon, while Matt Chanenchuk led the team in points with four, tallying three assists and one goal.  Will Kistinger notched two goals of his own, while Andrew Zito earned two assists and one goal for three points.  Shlomo Almar picked up a game high four ground balls as he won 13-of-19 attempts at the faceoff-x.  Alex Seltzer earns the win between the pipes, allowing only seven goals while making nine saves, including six in the second quarter.

First Quarter l The Bears opened up to a two goal lead with 6:57 to play in the first quarter, but a goal by Bassham with 4:10 on the clock kicked off a three goal run to put the Tars in the lead, 3-2, with 19 seconds to go in the period.  NYIT gained possession off of the faceoff thanks to Kistinger, who ran the ball down and found the back of the net with 10 seconds to go before the close of the period to even the score at 3-3 entering into the second quarter.

Second Quarter l  Kistinger got the second stanza scoring started with a goal at the 13:43 mark off of an assist by Zito to give the Bears a 4-3 lead, but Rollins answered back with a goal by Ashton to even the score at 4-4.  Halftown closed out the scoring in the second quarter with an unassisted goal with 6:07 to go before the break, closing out the first 30 minutes of play with NYIT holding onto a slim 5-4 lead at halftime.

Third Quarter l Bassham kicked off the third quarter with an unassisted goal with 12:07 on the clock, but three straight from the Bears, including two by Halftown, pulled NYIT into an 8-5 lead entering into the final quarter.

Fourth Quarter l Rollins mounted the attack in the fourth quarter, and turned up the intensity on defense as Rollins shut out the fifth-ranked Bears in the fourth quarter.  Bassham found the back of the net with 10:52 to play, pulling the Tars to within two, 8-6. Taicher pulled Rollins to within one just 37 seconds later as he placed a shot from long range into an open goal as NYIT scrambled to get back on defense after a failed clear.  The Tars looked to secure their third straight come-from-behind victory, but fell just short as a resolute Bears defense held them at bay the remainder of the game.
