MIAMI LAKES, Fla. (March 27, 2017) – Rollins used its best score of the season in the second round and vaulted to the top of the leaderboard after day one of the Barry Women’s Invitational.

The eighth-ranked Tars opened with a 292 to sit third, before firing a 289 in the afternoon to grab a six-shot lead over the field. Rollins five-over score of 581 is six ahead of Lynn (587) and eight clear of top-ranked Barry (589).

The field of 15 schools features six of the top-10 ranked teams in the Division II GolfStat rankings.

Senior Paige Lyle and freshman Selin Timur shot identical rounds of 73-71 and are tied for fourth-place with 144 strokes. Lyle’s opening round featured three birdies and two double bogeys. Her second round started with a bogey before rolling off 12 pars and four birdies until a double-bogey to finish on 18. Timur only had one blemish on a very solid first round and played the second with one bogey and two birdies.

Lexie Toth (74-74), Madison Lellyo (72-76) and Seher Atwal (75-73) are tied for 17th with four-over scores of 148.

Julie Steinbauer is tied for 70th with a score of 159, shooting scores of 79-80.

Rollins will play with Lynn and Barry and start with an 8:30 shotgun start at Shula’s Golf Club Senator Course in Miami Lakes. Live scoring is available at
