ELGIN, S.C. (November 1, 2016) – Rollins jumped one spot on the leaderboard over the final round Tuesday, finishing third at the Newberry Regional Preview.

The fourth-ranked Tars posted a 10-over 597 with rounds of 299-298 on the course that will host the 2017 NCAA Division II South Region Tournament this spring.

Florida Tech took the team title in decisive fashion with a nine-over par winning score of 585 (294-291). West Florida scored rounds of 294-301 and was runner-up with 595 strokes.

Rollins put three players in the top-10 individually.

Selin Timur led the way with a four-over 148, shooting back-to-back rounds of 74. She played the first 15 holes of the final round at even par before bogeys on 16 and 18.

Veterans Lexie Toth and Paige Lyle tied for eighth place, each shooting five-over scores of 149. Toth tallied rounds of 74-75 at the tournament wile Lyle carded 75-74.

Madison Lellyo was six-shots better in the second round than the first and tied for 25th with 156 strokes. She climbed 24 spots on the leader board Tuesday and was just one-over through 17 holes before a stumble on the last.

Viviana Vazquez finished tied for 32nd with 157 strokes, shooting 76-81.

The Newberry Regional Preview concludes the Tars fall season. They will be back in action Feb. 20-21, starting the championship season at the Lady Moc Classic in Lakeland.
