During halftime of the Tars 2-1 victory over Palm Beach Atlantic, on October 26, Emma Jones was awarded the Ashley Waplinger Award.  The Rollins women’s soccer team has presented the Ashley Waplinger Award annually to an alum that displayed outstanding enthusiasm, dedication, and discipline, acted as an inspiration, and constantly provided encouragement during her career as a Rollins Tar.

Emma had an illustrious career at Rollins.  She currently is the Tars all-time leader in games played, starting 80 contests and seeing a total of 6,793 minutes of action.  The Dripping Springs, Texas native graduated 12th on the Rollins career scoring list with 20 goals, 11th in the assist count with 16, and 11th in points, tallying 56 as a Tar.  Jones provided a reliable presence in the midfield and helped guide the Tars to two Sunshine State Conference Championships, four NCAA Tournament Appearances, and NCAA South Region Tournament Championship, and the 2014 NCAA National Championship game.

Head Coach Alicia Schuck said, “Emma Jones was the all-around most impressive player to pass through our program.  She was relentless in her effort to defend and to play the penetrating passes forward.  She was a player who was never asked to do anything more, because she was already doing exactly that.”

Emma graduated in 2015 with a degree in Environmental Studies.
