AUSTIN, Texas (November 21, 2016) – Rollins women’s soccer seniors Samantha Collin and Megan Block earned spots on the CoSIDA All-American Teams.  Block received Second Team honors, while Collin was named to the Third Team.  The pair, who were both named First Team CoSIDA Academic All-District last month, become the Tars’ first Academic All-Americans since Charlotte Murrell was named Third Team Capital One Academic All-American in 2011.

Block started every game for the Tars during the 2016 campaign, seeing 1,569 minutes of action, third most on the team.  The senior captain anchored a defense that gave up only 93 shots on goal through 18 games, and surrendered just one goal per outing.  Under the guidance of the Jacksonville, Florida native, the Rollins defense held five shutouts.  Block will graduate with a degree in International Business.

Collin played a vital role in the Tars midfield throughout the year.  The captain appeared in all 16 games for the Tars, including five starts, playing 719 minutes on the season.  The Oviedo, Florida native tallied two goals, and dished out one assist, to give her a total of five points.  Collin is majoring in Physics.
