WINTER PARK, Fla. (November 7, 2016) - The Rollins Women’s Soccer team will be competing for a national championship for the eighth time in the last nine seasons.  The Tars earned the fourth seed in the NCAA South Region Tournament, it wan announced Monday evening.  Rollins will face off against Lee University in opening round action.  The Lady Flames went 14-2-2 on the season, and 11-1-0 in the Gulf South Conference.

The Tars have compiled a 10-3-3 record on the year, going 6-2-3 against Sunshine State Conference competition.  Rollins defeated Tampa in the first round of the SSC Tournament, but fell to eventual champions Saint Leo in the semifinals.

The Tars and the Lady Flames have battled once before.  Rollins defeated Lee 2-0 to open the 2015 campaign.  Emma Bloom and Mora Johnson both netted goals, while Ali Jenkins tallied an assist.

SSC institution Barry captured the number one seed in the South Region, and awaits the winner of the Tars matchup against Lee.  On the other side of the bracket Saint Leo will host No.3 Nova Southeastern and No. 6 West Florida, with the winner advancing to take on the Lions.
