MELBOURNE, Fla. (November 3, 2016) - Senior midfielder Tosan Popo was named to the All-Sunshine State Conference First Team, it was announced Thursday.  The Rollins captain becomes just the fourth player in the history of the SSC to earn first team honors four times.

The Essex, England native started every game for the Tars on the season, seeing a total of 1,274 minutes of action.  Popo’s eight goals, and team leading six assists, gave him 22 points on the campaign, tied for seventh highest in the conference.

Popo scored twice in a 3-3 draw against Tampa, on September 21, including a rocketed volley, to bring the Tars equal early in the contest.  He registered two assists in in a 4-3 victory over Nova Southeastern on October 15, finding James Winchester in the 86th minute for the game winner.

Popo graduates tied for 16th in the Rollins record books with 26 career goals, tied for fourth with 32 assists, and tied, with Keith Buckley, for 10th all-time with 84 career points.
