TEMPE, Ariz. (July 22, 2016) – The Rollins men’s tennis team was honored for its work in the classroom, earning the distinction of ITA All-Academic Team, it was announced Friday. Individually, four Tars were named to the national list of ITA Scholar-Athletes.

Teams with combined GPA’s above 3.2 for the 2015-16 academic year were honored by the ITA. The Tars men earned a 3.49 GPA in the spring semester, helping the department to its 30th-straight semester with a combined GPA above 3.0.

Graduates Ahmed Albitar and Hayden Rodrigue joined senior Robin Marchione and junior Patrick Sell as ITA Scholar-Athletes.

Student-Athletes must be letter winners and have a GPA above 3.5 for consideration as an ITA Scholar-Athlete.

The Tars men were ranked in the top-30 nationally the entire season and advanced to the semifinals of the Sunshine State Conference Tournament. Anton Bettink was named All-SSC and All-America to highlight the Tars season.
