The No. 28 Tars split a pair of road contests last weekend, dropping their first match against No. 8 Lynn before defeating No. 49 Palm Beach Atlantic.  The Tars win over the Sailfish broke a four game losing streak for Rollins, and set them up for their final two matches.  Rollins will host the Eckerd Tritons on Wednesday, April 12, before concluding their season with a duel against Florida Southern, in match that had to be rescheduled after in was cancelled due to weather last week. 

Rollins has gone 52-50 in singles matches so far this season.  Cody Gubin has earned a 9-3 record in the sixth position and a 1-1 record in the fifth for a total record of 10-4 on the year. Sami Kirberg has had a solid freshman campaign for the Tars playing in the third, fourth, and fifth positions for the Tars, combining for an 8-4 singles mark.  Sophomore Ziad Melhaoui has stayed over .500 in singles play, tallying a marks of 9-8, playing in every spot from the second to the sixth.  Patrick Sell has seen a majority of the first position action for Rollins, amassing a 5-8 record, with five losses coming against nationally ranked opponents.

The Tars struggled, going 1-5 in doubles play last week, dropping their overall record to 26-25. The duo of Kirberg and Sell found themselves back in the first position against Palm Beach Atlantic last time out; the pair registered the Tars only doubles victory of the week, and are now 5-4 on the season. Daniel Ferl and Ahmed Albitar are 7-7 on the season, including a 5-5 mark in the first spot and a 2-2 record on the second.  Melhaoui and Racanelli remain 4-2 on the year, playing primarily in the third position.

Eckerd shut out Webber International on their Senior Day, but then took to the road where they were held scoreless by No. 2 Barry.  The trip to Winter Park will close out the Tritons regular season.

Victor Appelqvist has seen much of the action in the number one spot for Eckerd, earning a 3-9 record on the year. Eddie Lewis has played three matches in the first position, going undefeated in those, along with a 5-7 record in the second spot, earning Lewis is 8-7 on the year. Pacing the Tritons is Bruno Alves, who has compiled an 8-1 mark playing out of the fourth, fifth, and sixth positions. No Triton has more than one singles victory in SSC play.

Eckerd has sent seven pairs on the court for doubles play, totaling a 27-18 record.  Matt Spasic and Will Stone have registered an 11-2 mark, playing exclusively in the second position.  Alves and Lewis have teamed up for a 7-2 overall record, going 6-2 in the third position and winning their only match in the second spot.

The Mocs were scheduled to visit Winter Park on Tuesday, April 4, but rain postponed the contest.  Florida Southern now makes the trip on the back of three consecutive losses to Barry, Saint Leo, and Embry-Riddle.

Florida Southern, as a team, has tallied a 61-53 singles record in 2017.  Fabian Lundberg has seen all of the first position play for the Mocs, tallying a 5-14 record, with four of the losses coming against nationally ranked players.  Miguel Alvarez-Hevia is leading the way for Florida Southern in singles action, registering a 14-4 record which includes an 11-2 mark in the fifth position, and a 5-1 record against conference foes.  Laurent Mailloux is 8-5 in the fourth position and 10-7 overall.  Brian Silvonik is 9-5 in the third position, 9-6 overall, and 3-1 in SSC play.

The duo of Alvarez-Hevia and Mailloux have earned a spot on the south region top-10 doubles rankings.  The two have appeared together in all 18 of the Mocs’ 19 matches, going 8-9 in the first position and 1-0 in the second for an overall mark of 9-9.  Silvonik has teamed up Fabian Lundberg to earn a 10-5 record in the second doubles position.  Overall Florida Southern has used 12 pairs, and are three matches below .500 in doubles play, with a record of 27-30 on the year.
