TEMPE, Ariz. (July 22, 2016) – Led by seven players earning ITA Scholar-Athlete distinction, Rollins women’s tennis was named an ITA All-Academic Team, it was announced Friday.

Teams with combined GPA’s above 3.2 for the 2015-16 academic year were honored by the ITA for their work in the classroom. The Tars women’s tennis program posted the highest GPA in the department, earning a 3.63 GPA in the spring semester to retain the Athletic Communications Director’s Team GPA Trophy.

Seniors Carli Davis and Emma Wookey, juniors Shannon Etten and Johanna Olsson joined underclassmen Carlye Goldman, Teresa Kaiser and Hayley Macpherson as ITA Scholar-Athletes.

Student-Athletes must be letter winners and have a GPA above 3.5 for consideration as an ITA Scholar-Athlete.

The Tars spent the entire season in the Division II national rankings, finishing the year at No. 39. Head Coach Beverly Buckley was named USPTA Florida Division College Coach of the Year.
