WINTER PARK, Fla. (March 10, 2017) – The Tars made easy work of Wayne State, defeating the Warriors 8-1 to capture their second win in a row.  With the victory Rollins improves to 6-5 on the year.  Wayne State falls below the .500 mark at 8-9 on the season.

The Tars swept through doubles play.  Fabiana Vitanza and Alexandra Borg teamed up to win a close battle in the first position, taking the match 9-7.  Shannon Etten and Carlye Goldman paired up for the second time this year, improving to 2-0 with an 8-6 win over Lauren Hughes and Ashley Walker.  Savanna Fuller and Teresa Kaiser rolled out of the third position, winning their match 8-2.

The Tars dominance continued in singles play, where Rollins took five out of six.  Goldman controlled Liz Ghellere in the second position 6-2, 6-1.  Borg also earned a straight sets victory, besting Julia Walz 6-3, 6-3.  Fuller saw action in the four spot, dominating Hughes 6-1, 6-2.  Kaiser and Marie Debruyn both won 6-0, 6-2 out of the fifth and sixth positions respectively.

Rollins will make a journey to the west coast where they will open trip on Sunday, March 12, against Cal State-Los Angeles.  The match against the Golden Eagles is set to begin at 8 a.m.
