MELBOURNE, Fla. (November 21, 2016) – After notching a new personal best in kills in a contest, total attacks, and total blocks, Rollins junior middle blocker MaryBethany Vincent has been named Sunshine State Conference Defensive Player of the Week for the period ending November 20, league officials announced Monday. 

This marks the first Player of the Week award for Vincent in her career, and the last SSC Volleyball Player of the Week awards for the 2016 season.

The Atlanta, Ga. native closed out her junior campaign on a high note as the Tars posted a hard-fought five set victory over Barry University on Saturday afternoon.  Against the Bucs, Vincent earned a new career high in kills in a match with nine, total attacks with 21, and attack percentage earning a .333 on the night. The middle blocker also put up a new career high in blocks with 10, which puts her in a tie for 12th in program record books for blocks in a match.  Vincent opened up the week with one kill and six blocks against Eckerd College, and earned a team best seven blocks in the Tars' match-up against Lynn University on Friday night.
