MELBOURNE, Fla. – Juniors Bri Civiero and Shannon McDonough have earned 2016 All-Sunshine State Conference honors, league officials announced Tuesday.  In all, 21 student-athletes throughout the conference were recognized on the league’s four different teams, with Civiero earning First Team honors, and McDonough getting a nod on the second team.  Voting for the team was conducted among the league's volleyball coaches.

Civiero gets the nod on the All-SSC First Team for the first time in her career after a season that saw her lead the team in kills with 483.  The Mount Dora, Fla. native averaged 4.03 kills per set, and amassed 19 assists, 374 digs, and 56 total blocks, including seven solo blocks.  A member of the 2014 All-SSC Newcomer Team, as well, Civiero closed out her junior campaign ranking second in the SSC in total kills, and third in kills per set.

McDonough earns her second All-SSC award, and first Second Team selection of her career after placing on the 2014 All-Newcomer Team after her freshman season.  The 2014 Freshman of the Year was also named 2014 Newcomer of the Year for her efforts.  A native of Orlando, Fla., McDonough wrapped up her junior campaign with 465 kills, averaging 3.94 per set, while adding 10 assists, 300 digs, and 59 total blocks, including four solo blocks. The outside hitter ended the season third in the SSC in kills and fourth overall in kills per set.

Civiero and McDonough became the first set of Rollins teammates in six years to reach 400+ kills apiece in a season.
