LEXINGTON, Ky. (December 7, 2016) – Capping off a stellar season, junior Bri Civiero has been named to the American Volleyball Coaches Association (AVCA) All-America Honorable Mention team, league officials announced Wednesday.

Civiero earns the first AVCA All-America Honorable Mention honors of her career, and adds the award to her AVCA All-Region Honorable Mention honors she earned on November 30.  The First Team All-SSC selection led the team in kills with 483, averaging 4.03 kills per set, while amassing 19 assists, 374 digs, and 56 total blocks, including seven solo blocks.  The outside hitter also tallied 19 double-doubles on the season, notching a new personal best for double-doubles in a season.  A member of the 2014 All-SSC Newcomer Team, as well, Civiero closed out her junior campaign ranking second in the SSC in total kills, and third in kills per set.  She currently sits 18th in program record books in total kills, eclipsing the 1000 kill mark earlier this season to end the year with 1,059 total.

Overall, the Sunshine State Conference saw Allee Stelogeannis from Tampa pick up First Team honors, while Anna Tovo from Florida Southern earned a place on the Third Team.  Jaeda Allen (Barry), JaQuayla Baker (Eckerd), Brindl Langley (Florida Southern), Hope Lemon (Saint Leo), Marissa Tandron (Lynn), Jamee Townsend (Saint Leo), and Lydia West (Lynn) join Civiero on the Honorable Mention squad.
