WINTER PARK, Fla. (May 18, 2017) – The National Collegiate Baseball Writers of America has selected 3 Rollins student-athletes to one of the South All-Region teams for 2017.

Peter NicolettoChristopher Corbett, and Caleb Jakes were recognized on this season's All-Region squads. Nicoletto was selected to the All-South Region Second Team, while Corbett and Jakes were tabbed as honorable mentions.

Nicoletto earns his first All-Region nod of his career, after a solid senior season in which he made 50 appearances on the year, all were starts. The First Team All-SSC selection finished the season with a .338 batting average, and managed to drive in 42 RBI. His nine triples this season ranks first in the SSC, and his 25 career triples ties him for the most in SSC history. For his efforts this season, Nicoletto was named SSC Offensive Player of the Week twice this year, and was also named NCBWA Regional Player of the week this season.

Corbett earns the All-Region nod after being named to the NCBWA Preseason All-South Second Team earlier this season. A sturdy senior campaign saw him appear in 40 games for the Tars, starting 39.  The Stokesdale, N.C. native led the Tars with a .349 batting average, hitting nine home runs, and driving in 35 RBI. The First Team All-SSC selection ranks tied for third in the Sunshine State Conference with three triple this season.

Jakes is awarded All-Region honor for the first time in his career, after proving himself as one of the top relief pitchers in the conference for the Tars. The Junior appeared in 21 games for the Tars, but also made six starts. The Maitland, Fla. native compiled a 4-2 record on the year, to go along with a 2.52 ERA. The Second Team All-SSC selection pitched 60.2 innings for the Tars, recording one save, and 65 strikeouts.
