INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. (March 5, 2017) – For the second-straight season, Rollins earned a bid into the NCAA Division II South Region Tournament, it was announced on Selection Sunday.

The Tars were an automatic qualifier by way of their thrilling Sunshine State Conference Championship earlier in the day.

Rollins is the No. 7 seed in the tournament and will face two-seed Valdosta State in the first round on Saturday, March 11 in Huntsville, Alabama. UAH is the top-seed and will host the event at Spragins Hall for the second consecutive year. The winner of the Tars and Blazers will face the winner of Delta State and Christian Brothers in the second round.

The Tars are making a 14th trip into the NCAA postseason and ninth since 2000. Last year Rollins was the six seed and fell to three-seed Barry in the opening round, also at UAH. The Bucs went on to win the tournament and advance to the Elite Eight.

Rollins enters the tournament with a 21-10 overall record and riding an eight-game winning streak.

The Tars and Valdosta last met back in 2010 at the season opening GSC-SSC Crossover with the Blazers winning 93-83. The two schools squared off in the 2010 NCAA Division II South Region Championship game with VSU posting a 71-58 victory.

Game times and ticket information will be announced Monday, March 6.
