MELBOURNE, Fla. (October 22, 2016) – Rollins men’s and women’s cross country teams put a cap on the 2016 season Saturday at the Sunshine State Conference Championships in Melbourne.

Rollins men were sixth with 190 points while the Tars women finished eighth in their division with 260 points.  

Saint Leo swept the team titles, while Florida Southern took runner-up in the men and Tampa was second in the women.

Hayden Rodrigue led the men with a 48th place finish, stopping the clock at 29:39. Jack Williams and Jonathan Tyler battled the entire 8k with Williams coming in 51st in 31:49 and Tyler 52nd in 32:50. Luke Parsley was 53rd with a time of 36:49 and Colin Brant was 54th in 37:05.

Amy Martin was the Tars women’s top finisher, placing 69th in 27:59. Megan Welliver was 70th in 28:53, Eliza Morgan 72nd in 29:09 and Abygail Wong 73rd in 30:17.

Katie Rioux was 74th in 30:36 and Tess Saylor-Tynes was 76th in 31:30. Nicole Hubert took 77th in 34:56 and Camryn Grudowski was 79th in 38:47.

The SSC Championship completes Rollins 2016 slate.
