Chapala, Jalisco, Mexico (November 21, 2016) – Members of Rollins water ski competed in the 2016 Pan American Water Ski Championships at Boca Laguna in Jalisco, Mexico. The competition took place over the course of a week, beginning on Monday, November 14 and concluded on Sunday, November 20.

Competing in Open Men’s category, Dorien Llewellyn earned second place overall, scoring 2752.58 points. With a final score of 9970 in the trick contest, Llewellyn managed to beat out the 2015 defending world champion, Patricio Font. Llewellyn also competed in the slalom and jump contests, where he finished fourth and fifth respectively.

Chantal Singer competed in both Under 21 Ladies Slalom and Under 21 Ladies Tricks. Singer blew the competition out of the water in the tricks competition, taking first place with an overall score of 1117.22, with her closest competitor scoring 1000.00 points overall. In slalom, Singer qualified for the finals, earning herself a fifth-place finish.

Joaquin Angulo also had a good showing at Boca Laguna. Competing in the Under 21 Men’s Slalom, Angulo beat out 11 other skiers to earn himself second place. He had a final score of 3,00/58/11.25, the third-place competitor scored 2,00/58/11.25 while the winner of the event scored 2,00/58/10.75.
