CYPRESS, Texas (October 15, 2015) - After the first day of competition at the 2015 National Collegiate Water Ski Association National Championships at the Lakes of Cypress Hill, Rollins sit stands in fifth place overall with 3,035 points.

The combined team scores after the first day are incomplete as the fifth and final rotation of the men's slalom was not able to be completed due to darkness and will be completed on Friday following the completion of the men's tricks. 

On Thursday, both the men's and women's teams in the Division I portion competed in the slalom. The NCWSA Nationals is divided into Division and Division II as the Tars are one of 12 teams that qualified for the Division I Tournament this year.

Lousiana Lafayette leads the way with 3,990 points, followed by Florida Southern and Alabama.

Chantel Singer led the way for the women, posting a score of 97.50 to place her in a tie for fourth entering day two. Erika Lang cleared 1.00 buoy at 38 off and is tied for sixth after day one. Gabriella Viljoen finished day one in 22nd with a score of 85.50 while Jennifer Tee is 27th after posted an 80.00.

Sam Jackson led the men’s squad with a ninth place finish of 104 points, recording 2.00 buoys at 38 off. Miks Cinis was close behind, sitting in a tie for 12th with a score of 103. Matt Bengtson is 21st with a score of 93.50 while Alex DeGunzberg is 33rd after clearing 1.50 buoys and scored a 67.50.

The second day of the action Friday will consist of tricks and jumps for the teams as the women will compete in the jumps and the men will compete in the tricks and then complete the fifth and final rotation of the slalom. On Saturday's third and final day of the championships, the men will compete in the jumps and the women will compete in the tricks.
