MIAMI SHORES, Fla. (February 22, 2012) - Brett Chance netted a career high 18 points to trump the Tars short bench as Rollins posted a 57-47 win at Barry Wednesday.

The victory keeps Rollins (16-9, 9-6 SSC) in line for a top seed and first round home game in the Sunshine State Conference Tournament. Barry drops to 12-15 overall and 6-9 in conference play.

Chance hit 7-of-10 from the field, including four 3-pointers, to pace the Tars and better his previous career best of 14 set against Webber International earlier in the year.

Myk Brown added 16 points and six rebounds while Ian Scott posted seven points and a career-best 10 rebounds.

Jermaine Edwards led Barry with a double-double, tallying 14 points and 10 rebounds. Evan White chipped in 13-points off the bench.

Rollins starters outscored Barry's first-five 47-16 on the night.

The Tars got off to a good start and led 14-6 halfway through the first period. A White triple with 6:20 left in the half pulled the Bucs to within 19-17 but the Tars finished the period on a 10-1 run and led 29-18 at the half.

Rollins pushed the lead to 12 three times early in the second half, but a late Barry run closed the gap to 43-39 with four minutes to play. Another Chance 3-pointer sparked a quick 6-0 Tars run and they converted 9-of-10 from the stripe down the stretch to hold on for the win.

The Tars will close the regular season on Saturday, Feb. 25 at Nova Southeastern. Tipoff is schedule for 4 p.m. from Ft. Lauderdale. Fans can follow all the action live on the Tars Sports Network at RollinsSports.com and locally on 91.5 FM, WPRK.
