AUSTIN, Texas (March 6, 2012) - Rollins got back to its winning ways Tuesday, beating 33rd-ranked St. Edward's University 8-1 as part of the 10th-ranked Tars spring break trip.
Rollins improves to 5-4 on the year while the Hilltoppers fall to 6-3.
Rollins was down 2-1 after doubles play with just Lisa Loft and Kayli Ragsdale winning 8-6 over Audry Tompkins and Alexandra Khadzhyan at No. 1.
The Tars then swept singles play, winning all but one in straight sets.
At No. 1, 26th-ranked Loft won 6-3, 6-0 over Khadzhyan while Stefania Tkach took Paige Rachel 6-7(7), 6-2, 10-7 at No. 2.
Ashley Rosenberg blanked Tomkins 6-0, 6-0 at No. 3 while Mariana Salvador was a 6-3, 6-0 winner over Rafaela Haegele at No. 4.
Sara Stosljevic beat Heather Brien 6-4, 6-1 in the No. 5 match while Callie Whitlock took Franceseca Chahor 6-2, 6-2 at No. 6.
Rollins will be back in action on Wednesday, March 7 against Incarnate Word.
