SLIPPERY ROCK, Penn. (March 26, 2012) - After opening Sunshine State Conference play against No. 14 Lynn, Rollins went away with one win and have now moved up one spot in the latest National Collegiate Baseball Writers Association (NCBWA) Division II South Region Poll, it was announced Monday.
Rollins received eight points in their move as they replace Florida Tech in the seven slot. The Tars took game two of the three-game series with Lynn on a 5-3 decision. Rollins is now 18-8 on the season and 1-2 in SSC play.
North Alabama remains atop the standings with 68 points and five first-place votes. Tampa also remains second in the region with 63 points and two first-place votes. West Florida took a solid hold of third with 53 points while Lynn moved up to fourth and Delta State dropped to fifth.
Dropping one spot to sixth was SSC foe Nova Southeastern. Florida Tech dropped one to eighth while West Georgia came in at ninth. Making a debut in the rankings is Gulf South Conference's Valdosta State in 10th.
Rollins will be back in action on Friday, March 31 as they host eighth-ranked Tampa for a three-game set. First pitch is set for 6 p.m. Fans can catch all the action live on the Tars Sports Network at RollinsSports.com.
