PRINCETON, N.J. (September 30, 2017) – Rollins posted solid rounds of 309 and 307 to grab third place after day one of the Princeton Invitational.
The Tars are just three back of second place Harvard (309-304) and seven off leader Georgetown (308-301). Host Princeton is fourth (311-307) and Delaware fifth (315-305).
Seher Atwal leads the Tars and is second in the individual standings at three-over par. The sophomore was on fire coming out of the gate with three birdies over the first nine-holes. She added another red number on the back and closed the first round atop the leader board with an even-par 72. Atwal was just as solid in the afternoon round, hanging a 75 to sit five shots behind Georgetown's Jacquelyn Eleey (75-67) heading into the final day.
Madison Lellyo is tied for 11th with two rounds of 76. Her opening trip around Springdale Golf Club featured three birdies, nine pars, five bogeys and one double. She was again solid in the second round with three birdies to seven bogeys. Lexie Toth is tied for 33rd at 14-over par. The senior stumbled at the start with an 11-over 83 in the first round, but recovered nicely in the second and hung a three-over 75.
Freshman Sophie Faulkner is tied for 45th at 17-over with scores of 80-81 on Saturday. Her day featured a pair of birdies, both on the par-5 third hole. Selin Timur is tied for 48th at 18-over with two rounds of 81, also highlighted by a pair of birdies.
Rollins will play the final round on Sunday, Oct. 1, starting at 9:15 a.m. The Tars will play with Georgetown and Harvard. Fans can follow live scoring at GolfStat.com
