Rollins 8th Nationally in Academic Success Rate

INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. (December 6, 2018) – For the eighth-straight year, Rollins was honored with the NCAA President's Award for Academic Excellence, recognizing schools for achieving four-year academic success rates of 90-percent or higher.

Just 27 NCAA Division II schools earned the President's Award for Academic Excellence in 2018; Rollins has won the award every year since the program was instituted.

The Academic Success Rate is the percentage of student-athletes who graduate within six years of initial collegiate enrollment and includes virtually all Division II student-athletes, including transfers and those not receiving athletics scholarships.

The Tars posted a 95 Academic Success Rate to rank eighth nationally and tie with Eckerd for the best mark in the Sunshine State Conference. Barry also earned the President's Award with a 91 ASR.

Earlier in the year, it was announced the Sunshine State Conference led the nation with an ASR of 86-percent; the third consecutive year the SSC topped the list.

Bentley was the top performer in the division, turning in a four-year ASR of 99 percent. Five schools also earned rates of 97 percent: Hillsdale, Point Loma, Saint Michael's, Seattle Pacific and Thomas Jefferson University.

"The schools we recognize with the Presidents' Award for Academic Excellence demonstrate a firm commitment to support the academic success of student-athletes," said Glen Jones, president of Henderson State and chair of the Division II Presidents Council. "We commend them for their ongoing efforts to provide student-athletes with the opportunity to excel in the classroom, on the field and for life."
